Bombing for Peace
A short anti-war poem
Here’s a short anti-war poem I’ve had kicking around in my notes app. I’m not sure if I’d consider it finished, but it’s a start. I hope you enjoy it.
I wish it weren’t so relevant.
Tonight, across the ocean, in a country I will never see, angels are falling. Their bodies exploding across the sky, illuminating the night; a barrage of destruction trailing its fingers through their wings. People will tell me, war was inevitable that we were overdue, but how can the untimely deaths of thousands, ever be owed to a god who cast out his own.
